About Me
Hello, My name is Christine. I am an Arizona native and former Labor and Delivery Nurse with 20 years of experience, specializing in bereavement care.
A freak accident changed everything. I lost feeling in my left hand, developed a life altering nerve syndrome (CRPS), and was forced to step away from the career that had been my identity. What began as grief soon became a path of healing through creativity. Art became my therapy. I began spray painting jars from the recycle bin into vases and roller skating as part of my healing.
A friend shared her grandmother's 60 year old plant hanger, inspiring me to create pieces using vintage necklaces that honor the past. Working with my hands helped me rebuild strength and purpose through each piece I created.
Overtime, Perfectly Imperfect Artz was born. A collection of functional and soulful art made almost entirely from upcycled, thrifted, donated, and community sourced materials. Whenever possible, I choose to soource my materials from local thrift stores that give back to their local communities. It is my way of supporting organizations that help others while creating unique, sustainable artwork that gives the past a new beginning and brings joy to a new home.
Today, I create one of a kind art by transforming wine bottles into wind chimes, vintage jewelry into plant hangers, suncatchers from antique chandeliers, hand wired Trees of Life that were once metal bracelets and more. Each piece is unique, carrying a story of transformation, resilience, and connecting the past with the present in a meaningful and lasting way.
My work is created intuitively, allowing the materials to guide the process. I am drawn to vintage and antique elements not only for their beauty, but for the lives they lived. These pieces carry history, energy, and memory. Through my work they are gently reimagined into something that can be held, seen, and felt again.
My work is rooted in the belief that healing is never linear, beauty is found in imperfection, and nothing is ever truly broken beyond repair.
Thank you for being here.
Christine
